ROBINSON PAIR AT MIAMI Lucky Tom and Renaissance Reach Hialeah Park for Florida Derby Cathop Impresses. MIAMI", Fla., Feb. 24 Lucky Tom and Renaissance, which will carry the colors of J. J. Robinson in the fifth Florida Derby at Hialeah Park Saturday, arrived at Hialeah Park. The two sons of Master Charlie shipped excellently from New Orleans, where they have raced successfully throughout the early winter campaign and trainer H. C. Riddle will have them out on the track for their final trial for the 0,000 feature of the Miami Jockey Club meeting. Lucky Tom, winner of the Grand Union Hotel Stakes at Saratoga last summer, has carried his speed into the winter and his final test in New Orleans was a good third to Spanish Play and Wotan in the Jack L. Dempsey Memorial Handicap at the Fair Grounds. Jockeys Toney Pascuma and Harry Richards accompanied trainer Riddle to Miami. Pascuma will likely have the mount on Lucky Tom, which will carry top weight of 126 pounds, and Richards is slated to ride Renaissance, which gets in with 118 pounds. Floridas chief reliance, George D. Wideners filly, Evening, worked the full Derby route of one mile and a furlong over a slow track Wednesday and appears to be in excellent condition for the race -which will climax her winter campaign. Bobby Leischman, who was re-instated Tuesday, will be in the saddle in the Derby. Cathop, the half-brother of Mike Hall, which races for R. M. Eastman of Chicago, will have many supporters. He has come to hand slowly, as did his illustrious half-brother, but horsemen brand him one of the best three-year-old prospects to show in the winter tracks this season. His public trial of one mile and a furlong in 1:51 between races Saturday, was a sensational effort and it is. safe to predict that he will snare the major support with Evening and the Robinson pair.
