ROYAL DOULTON saved much ground in the stretch. MIRVIN LOUISE took the early lead and increased it on the back stretch, but tired and bore out in the stretch. The latter raced wide in the stretch, but was gaining at the end. PING COATES, weakly handled, was in much trouble. MT. LASSEN raced fairly well on the outside. JOTIVA, a slow starter, was badly outrun for half a mile, then moved up fast, saved much ground on the far turn, then tired in the stretch. TETRA GLASS quit badly.
