* • JOHN KERN DROPS DEAD KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 7.— John Kern, well known horseman and native of Kansas City, dropped dead early this morning at Riverside Park while attending to his training duties. "Red," as he was known in racing circles, was the victim of heart failure and died as he was feeding his horses. Kern was 58 years old and spent the last forty years in racing. The remains will be shipped to Fort Leavenworth and interred in the family plot there. ,
