HIGH DIVER raced close up throughout. TELAMON met early interference, but was racing well at the end. BOB DOZER raced fairly well. PRINCE PEBBLES was cut off sharply on the far turn. MICHIGAN LAD showed early speed. BENEFIT, rushed into the early lead, continued gamely after being overtaken by ALTMARK, went to the outside of the latter near the end and was gaining fast. JANE PACKARD lost much ground by bearing out on the stretch turn. NIGHT VINTAGE showed early speed. BALDERDASH closed a gap. BOB CUSTER showed early speed. SEMESTER could not keep up. PLUMAGE, at homo in the going, came fast on the outside on the stretch turn and, taking a short lead an eighth out, held PRINCESS CAMELIA safe in a driving finish. PRINCESS CAMELIA dropped back slightly after entering the stretch, but came again and, finishing gamely, barely missed. MANTA, racing well in the early stages, took the lead between calls after entering the stretch, then tired badly in the closing leighth. ABSURDITY showed early speed. LADY COUVIN was badly outrun.
