Trainer Bill Irvine, who left Saturday night for Canada, ordered Spring- steel and Open Hearth shipped to Hamilton, Ont. Adobe Post was shipped Monday night to Washington Park. There are about six hundred horses quarto tered at the Thistle Down track. Jockey V. Roussel is now a full fledged rider, his apprenticeship having expiied on June 3. The riding of the veteran Joe Rodriguez, who is under contract to Vic Gallo, is at- tracting the attention of owners in quest of an old head to guide their charges. He can scale 107 pounds. Jockey Harold West is riding in good form and doing 102 pounds. A. Sans is making the riding engagements of jockey W. Prior. F. C. Travis arrived here from Chicago with the horse Fortunate Youth and four others. Richard "Dick" Boland arrived from Chi- cago. W. Stacey, the van man, was a visitor from Cincinnati. Following the running of the Derby at Bainbridge Park Saturday, trainer William Irvine changed his plans regarding the fu- ture activities of the Labrot Derby candi- dates Springsteel and Open Hearth and they will not compete in the American Derby. Trainer Irvine left Saturday night for To- ronto and ordered the horses shipped to Hamilton, Ont.
