UNITED HUNTS MEETING JUNE 11 NEW YORK. N. Y., June 8— When the United Hunts Racing Association was organized the meetings were purely amateur, with hunters and occasionally polo ponies furnishing the sport. Amateurs rode, and the meetings were big events for the hunting set. Then the scope of the meetings broadened, and the professionals were invited to participate. For the one-day meeting next Saturday at West Hills, Long Island, there is a return to the original order of things. It is purely a hunt meeting, with hunters to race over brush and post and rail courses, and on the flat. Amateurs will ride, and the racing will be conducted over a private course. H. A. Buck, secretary of the United Hunts Association, entertained a party of turf writers and others Sunday at a luncheon at the Turf and Field Club, after which the course was visited. It is on the estates of Henry L. Stimson and Thomas A. White. A well laid out course with eight jumps to a turn of the field offers every hazard that is found at Belmont Park. These jumps have been broadened to take care of the" large fields that arc expected to go to the post. There is no more picturesque course to be found anywhere. Provision has been made for the racing crowd and ample parking space will be available for motor cars, the only way to reach the grounds from Huntington. There will be five races. Three of these are over the brush course, one over the post and rail course, and the last race of the day will be one mile and a half on the flat. • •
