FEDERAL TAX BEGINS TODAY NEW YORK, N. Y., June 20. The federal tax on race track admissions goes into effect Tuesday, June 21. It is an impost of 10 per cent on admissions and the law takes in the press and complimentary badges as well as the regular paid badges, which have always carried the tax ever since the admission was fixed at .50. The method of collecting the tax will be by tax booths at the gates, where the tax tickets will be purchased in the same fashion the Florida state tax was collected for the racing last winter. The holders of all badges, other than regular daily paid admissions, will be required to purchase these tax tickets.
