Adsum, ridden by J. McCoy in the Tennessee Breeders Associations colors, made every post a winning one, over Brass Monkey, Royal Sport and five other distance platers in the mile and one-sixteenth of the fifth race. After making the pace for three-quarters under restraint, the winner withstood a weak challenge from Royal Sport and was not seriously threatened by Brass Monkey, after the latter supplanted Royal Sport as the runner-up a few yards from the wire. Vesee was fourth and Sandwrack next to reach the finish.
