1 HAMILTON TURF NOTES s J Harry Giddings added six members to the extensive racing string of R. S. McLaughlin of Oshawa, Ont., through the purchase of six two-year-olds from F. S. Page, owner of the Maemore Stud. The transaction took place in New York a few days ago and the new acquisitions arrived without mishap at Hamilton. The list includes Maetico, Mae-mere, Royal Guard, Swagger Stick, Mae Ree and Maeantic. Owing to the contract papers not being filed with the Canadian Racing Associations, for A. Hickling, who rode in the maiden race that was the second race on Tuesdays program. Candy Pot, a starter from the Seagram Stable, was forced to pick up five pounds additional. William Garth, who has the unbeaten filly Miss Puray entered in the Lassie Stakes,, to be decided at Arlington Park, has arranged to ship the swift-running daughter of Purchase Auray to the Chicago course Wednesday. Jockey "Chick" Lang, who recently gave first call on his services to the Virginia sportsman, will go along to ride the filly in all of her engagements. Jockey T. Aimers, who is under contract to the Thorncliffe Stable, escaped serious injury at Hamilton Tuesday morning when a two-year-old that he was galloping shied and hit the fence. Aimers suffered a slight crushing of his foot, but, fortunately, the accident did-not keep the lad from fulfilling his engagements. Jockey Charles Lang, who has given first call on his services to William Garth, will leave for Arlington Park Saturday evening. Lang is scheduled to ride the unbeaten filly, Miss Puray, in the Lassie Stakes at the Chicago course. Jockey F. Halbert was ordered by the stewards at Hamilton not to accept further mounts during the meeting for infractions of racing rules.
