1 LATONIA TURF NOTES E. H. Smith and J. P. Smith received trainers licenses and G. Gleason a jockeys license at a meeting of the license committee Monday. D. E. Stewart is preparing for a number of additions to his present string. The newcomers are due from C. B. Shaffers Coldstream Stud at Lexington. J. Kabrisch got in from Chicago with H. C. Ragans Dusky Dame, Draha, Mary Marvin, Demagogue and Bootland Belle, and Mrs. G. .Dennys Night Edition and Reservation. W. H. Buckner arrived from Douglas Park with the Longridge Stables Oscillation, Long Ridge and Slimpickens, and H. J. Mattinglys Lostanose. Oscillation, rated highly among the juveniles last season, will be pointed for the Latonia Oaks on the closing day of the current meeting. Al Darnaby got in from Washington Park with W. M. Gibsons three-year-old Lonell. Jockey H. Lausch was ah addition to the riding colony. Lausch only recently concluded his apprenticeship. J. B, Respess sent Lazy River to his Highland Farm to be turned out and disposed of Rose Blossom, a three-year-old, for show and saddle purposes. Knebelkamp and Morris Dick Morris, Wor-thys Pride, Scotland Miss, Jack Murphy, Ad-alor T. and Harry Kuhns were unloaded here today. They came from Bainbridge Park in charge of Joe Umensetter, who was accompanied by jockey H. Tinker. William Knebelkamp, owner of a large stable here and head of the Louisville baseball club, was an arrival from the Falls City. On his return to the Whitney Farms headquarters at Lexington, Major Louis A. Beard is expected to stop off here long enough to inspect the Greentree Stable and C. V. Whitney horses quartered at Latonia. Roscoe Goose introduced his newest jockey prospect, Willie C. Whitney, when he entered the Louisville youngster with Del-ven, a starter in the sixth race. Goose gives this lad an excellent chance to prove every bit as good as E. James, C. Kurtsinger and G. Elston, others turned out by Roscoe. Willie Boganowski, who rode with much success at the recent Bainbridge meeting, is accepting mounts here. Gilbert Elston took light exercise astraddle a stable pony this morning for his first appearance since his fall at Washington Park a few weeks ago. He should resume riding before the close of the Latonia meeting. The license committee granted licenses to jockeys H. Lausch, S. Griffin and J. B. Miller. Apprentice Joe Haupt reported ill and was permitted to cancel his afternoon engagements.
