The latter continued to move up steadily under urging after the turn and was wearing down the winner. ACTIVE AMERICAN showed good speed all the way. AIDAS PAL began slowly, but closed boldly. SWEET FLAG was on the outside all the way. MY GENTLEMAN showed early speed. SPECKLE, hard urged throughout, tired badly after taking the lead on the stretch turn. FIREFLASH showed speed, but was done after the final three-sixteenths. VIBA lost ground in the early stages and tired badly. EVER FAITHFUL began slowly.
