WORTHY POLLY showed speed was under strong pressure throughout and, while no match for the winner, was much the best of the others. NORIAS, probably best and close up, worked his way into the lead near the last eighth, but was overconfidently ridden near the end. SHASTA LAD showed speed, but tired. TWILL finished gamely. MURKY CLOUD had no mishaps. PARNELL BOUND could not develop his best stride for he was in the worst part of the track at the start.
