CAMPDORE wore down BALD CREST in the stretch and drew away in the final strides. BALD CREST showed the most speed, but tired in the last sixteenth. ROYAL CHEF worked his way up and finished with a rush on the outside. PARADE REST closed a gap in the final quarter. MORLOVE failed to respond to punishment and could not get up. SIXTY NINTH was racing forwardly when he stumbled and fell and COURT MARTIAL fell over him. The latter closed with a rush through the stretch and was going fastest of all at the end. LUCK PIECE, outrun early, came wide into the stretch and closed gamely. CABAMA came with a rush on the outside through the last eighth. SINGLE C. faltered badly after cutting out the pace until reaching the stretch. GUN MAN, rated back of the pace, moved up determinedly leaving the back stretch, but could never seriously threaten the winner. DUCHESS OF YORK saved ground in the stretch and closed willingly.
