SALE OF THURSDAY NIGHT , Total of Fifty-One Yearlings Sold for 4,745, Average of 85. Son of Eternal Antipodes Brings Top Price of ,000 Xalapa Farm Youngsters Are Held in High Regard. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y Aug. 19. .Thoroughbred yearlings from the Xalapa Farm of Paris, Ky., and the Regan Farm, Lincliffe Farm, P. T. Chinn and others were offered by the Fasig-Tipton Company, Thursday evening. Several choice offerings were led into the ring and attracted brisk bidding. The top price of the evening was paid by J. P. Smith when he gave ,000 for a gray or roan colt by Eternal, from imported Antipodes, by Roi Herode. This fellow is a brother to the stakes winner Mexico that raced for W. Labrot last year. C. J. Casey, acting for the Lie Mar Stock Farm was a frequent bidder during the evening and secured several offerings. He secured the first youngster led into the ring, a black colt by Eternal, from Killimic, by Wrack. Later in the evening he bid ,000 for another black colt by Eternal, from Booler, by the English horse Chaucer. He also secured a brown colt by Eternal, from Rockalon, for ,000. The fourteen yearlings sold by the Xalapa Farm realized a gTand total of 5,550 or an average of ,110.
