OUTSIDERS IN THE LIMELIGHT Long Priced Horses Win Majority of Kenliworth Races. Angry Lass Romps to Victory, With Bright Day and Clear Sky Disappointing Their Backers. WINDSOR, Ont., Aug. 19. Long shots captured the majority of the races at the Ken-ilworth Jockey Club course this afternoon. It was another card of claiming events, with previous non-winners having a field day. With the exception of the Saturday throng, the attendance was the largest of the season and a fast track and balmy weather prevailed. Another favorite went down to defeat in the race that held the most prominent position when Bright Day failed to gain any part of the purse. The winner turned up in Angry Lass, which scored a hollow victory. The Ladkin mare was five lengths in advance of Released at the end. The latter opened up a good lead and at one stage of the journey enjoyed a lead of four lengths over her closest rival. Mattioli was astride Angry Lass and rode a confident race. He kept the five-year-old under reserve, making his move in the final three furlongs, and she readily wore down Released, and it was just a matter of how far her rider elected to win by. Justa Sheik turned in an improved effort to take down third place from Scandal Sheet. The disappointments of the race were Bright Day and Clear Sky, neither of which entered into contention at any stage of the race. A spill marred the running of the opening six furlong race, which had its running over the six furlong distance when Sixty Ninth stumbled and fell after passing the half-mile ground and Court Martial fell over top of him. Bald Crest set the pace .closely followed by Camp Dore, while Morlove, the favorite, was blocked in the opening three-sixteenths and dropped back when knocked off her stride. She again gained a prominent place, but failed to respond to her riders call. Bald Crest was still clear1 as the stretch was reached, but Camp Dore, finishing fast, wore down the pacemaker and was home three-quarters of a length to the good. Bald Crest held on well and easily gained second place from Royal Chef. The latter finished with a rush in the stretch. A seven furlongs event for platers was the second offering and it resulted in a surprise when Incessant, racing for W. H. Wright, wore down S. Freidleins Liberty Ace in the wore down S. Friedleins Liberty Ace in the second, well in advance of Abduction. Liberty Ace was away in motion and soon opened up a good lead. Incessant was in near attendance of the pace and moved up when called upon in the stretch, responded with a burst of speed and was slowly drawing clear at the finish. Abduction, which had been in the thick of contention, weakened slightly in the stretch, though easily saving his part of the award from Fair Speed. Soli Gills was the favorite, but wilted badly when the closing test came and wound up far back. C. S. Mitchells Sabana showed a return to winning form when she defeated nine other Canadian-bred platers that raced in the third event. The finish found the Sobieski mare well in advance of Brave Alonzo, with the latter barely gaining second place by a neck from Raysol. Freethinker, the choice, failed to cut any serious figure in the running, though looming up threateningly as the fieid turned out of the stretch. Sabana was kept in near attendance of Fair Fortune while the latter was setting the pace, took command with a rush when called upon and dominated the race for the remainder of the distance, Winning as if outclassing her opponents. Brave Alonzo -moved up when the pacemaker began tiring and outlasted Raysol for second place. Fair Fortune tired badly after his display of speed and dropped back badly.
