FINALE AT NIAGARA FALLS Large Gathering Sees Last Days Sport Featured by Omareens Record Breaking Score. NIAGARA FALLS, Ont., Aug. 24. It was another enormously large throng that visited Stamford Park for the closing days sport. The King Edward Hotel claiming race that had its running over the mile and seventy yards distance brought together the best field of the afternoon. This was placed fourth on the program and brought out a half dozen of the best platers quartered at the track. There was a new track record established in the running when C. N. Mooneys Omareen covered the distance in 1:43. Big Blow, from the stable of C. Smythe, finished second, beaten three lengths for major honors. The Mayfair Stables Watergap was third, Winifred Ann headed Magical Image and Traumagne brought Tip the rear. The field left the post in good alignment and with the exception of the winner, went to the first; turn heads apart. As the back stretch was reached the field was still closely locked with Omareen trailing. Magical Image forged into command, but his advantage was of short duration, for Winifred Ann, after encountering no end of trouble, poked her head in front. At the half mile Omareen started to improve his position and went into command with a rush midway around the turn. Peake kept right after the Omar Khayyam six-year-old and opened up a good lead. Big Blow had also moved up and set after the leader, but through the stretch Omareen was not menaced and drew out steadily and reached the finishing line with a wide margin over Big Blow. Watergap, after dropping back, came again in the last furlong to be third.
