This morning trainer W. Z. Martin sent him a mile from the barrier in 1:46, breezing. Canron, W. W. Vaughans winner of the Governors Handicap today worked a mile in 1:44, breezing, in preparation for the mile A. B. Dade Memorial Handicap. W. H. Whitehouse, owner, of Covington, Ky., and C. N. Finch, veterinary of Jef-f ersonville, Ind., were visitors for todays racing. Joe Shakspeares Mary Lou arrived from Latonia, in charge of trainer Jordan Mosby. Jockey C. Callahan was suspended Tuesday for three days by starter Hamilton. Jockey Jimmy Chirch, who formerly was under contract to C. E. Durnell, is working hard in an effort to get down to medium riding weight. The lad has accepted se-eral mounts during the Dade Park meeting and hopes to get back to the form he displayed when in the employ of Durnell. Jockey R. Finnerty will depart for Lincoln Fields in time for the opening September 3. Jockey W. Ellsworth accepted his first engagements, this afternoon since his arrival from Hawthorne. Al Smitha plans on shipping the eight horses he has here to Fairmount at the close of this meeting. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Carney are visitors from their home at Louisville. Mrs. Carney has several horses here in charge of Kirby Ramsey
