ATTENDANCE AT DADE PARK Crowds at Present Meeting Larger Than Former Years Saturday, August 20 Record Breaker. HENDERSON, Ky., Aug. 24. The attendance to date at the summer meeting of the Dade Park Jockey Club has exceeded that of all former years. The crowd last Saturday at the running of the Governors Handicap was the largest Saturday crowd in the history of the western Kentucky track. Weather conditions have been ideal. Only on one day has rain marred the racing and that was when a near cloudburst occurred last week. However, the hundreds of motorists in attendance experienced little or ho trouble In leaving the grounds. Lester E. Yeager, associate manager, provided teams of mules, free of cost, when needed to assist cars from soft spots in the parking grounds. There were many, parties of racing fans in attendance last Saturday from Louisville, Cincinnati, Covington, Lexington, Nashville, St.. Louis and Chicago. Governor Ruby Laf-foon of Kentucky presented the trophy to W. W. Vaughan, whose Canron won the Governors Handicap. Governor Laffoon expressed himself as being pleased with Saturdays program and was a visitor at the track again this week, driving from his home at Madisonville, where he is spending a few days. The meeting will continue through to September 10. .
