PIMLICO FUTURITY TODAY Continued from first page J from the Brookmeade Stable, rather than sending Caesars Ghost, the other eligible, to the post, though Caesars Ghost ran second to The Darb in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes. Bright Shadow will carry the silks of the Audley Farm Stable, and Golden Way is Henry McDaniels selection from the Joseph E. Widener stable. Wave On, the son of Upset, has been improving and is the hope of the Sagamore Stable, and the others of the big field are Swivel, to race for Adolphe Pons; Technique, winner of the Breeders Futurity; Euryalus, Sabula and Silent Shot. The Pimlico Futurity is at scale weights and under such conditions and over such a distance it is an ideal test to decide the juvenile championship. Most of the good ones of the spring and summer racing have carried on well through to the fall season, and while it is possible that Repaid will be the choice by reason of his most recent impressive showing, there are some in the field well calculated to give the son of Kai-Sang a stiff argument. Should all of those named go to the post, the big prize will have its greatest value with a net of some 7,000 to the winner. The greatest previous value was in the 1921 running, when the big prize was run in two sections with a value of 1,015 to each. That year fillies took both runnings when Blossom Time won for Edward R. Bradley, and Sallys Alley scored for Willis Sharpe Kilmer. Incidentally both were ridden by Albert Johnson. There is every indication that both weather and track conditions will be good for the big prize, and Matt L. Daiger of the Maryland Jockey Club has made preparations to handle a crowd that he confidently expects will number at least 40,000. The race will not be broadcast as has been the custom in recent runnings.
