1 LAT0NIA TURF NOTES H. Tinker preferred to have his five-day suspension start Friday, and under the rules was permitted to fill his engagements Thursday. The early winter meeting at St. Johns Park, or Keeney Park, Bayard, Fla., will open December 30 and close January 18, j according to information received here. George Read and Tom Thorpe will be the stewards, with H. D. Monroe serving as racing secretary and W. Hamilton being the starter. Sidney Bender, who served at the recent Sportsmans Park meeting, came in from his home at Manchester, Ohio, and will remain for the balance of the meeting. While here he will work out plans for the transfer from Kentucky to Oriental Park of some of the largest stables booked for the fifty-one day meeting at Havana. The Lebus Brothers disposed of Major Lanphier to W. E. Charles and W. Z. Martin-will continue to train the three-year-old. A trainers license was granted W. B. Theall, and John Burns was authorized to act as agent for the Lone Star Stable.
