TRAINER C. W. CARROLL SUICIDE SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Aug. 3. Charles W. Carroll, who was known throughout the racing world as "Bill" Carroll, took his own life Wednesday. Carroll was for a time the trainer of Willis Sharpe Kilmers Sun Beau. He was 68 years old and had been in bad health for quite some time. Until a few weeks ago, he was a popular, figure at Tanforan., He was A. B. Spreckels head stableman for twenty-eight years but recently left the turf to run a grocery store at San Bruno.
