WINOOKA COMING TO j HAWTHORNE NEXT WEEK - ...i SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Aug. 3. The famous Australian speedster Winooka will leave Tanforan next Sunday for the Hawthorne track at Chicago, where he will meet some of Americas best handicap horses. He will be given several races before attempting to measure strides with the great Equipoise. Winooka, according to trainer Mick Pol-son, is proceeding steadily. The match race against Hueu last Saturday at Tanforan and which the Australian won easily was just what he needed to be put on a keen edge. It is not Poisons intention to allow Winooka to be rushed into races and the horse will be given several days rest after reaching Chicago before going to the post. Poison will accompany Winooka East, along with manager Rufe Naylor, jockey Edgar Britt and half owner W. A. McDonald. The other owner, I. A. Matthews, will soon return to Australia.
