I CONEY, ISLAND TURF NOTES I s $ Herbert P. Gardner, who has five horses here in charge of Edward Haughton arrived from his home at Amsterdam, New York, yesterday and after a conference with Haughton decided to offer the horses at auction in the Coney Island paddock at one oclock Saturday. C. P. Smith shipped five horses he had at Coney Island to Dade Park this morning. Jockey R. Brooks and apprentice A. Huels-man accepted their first mounts today. Jockey Charley Allen left for Saratoga to ride the Calumet Farms Hadagal in Saturdays renewal of the Saratoga SpeciaL Condition books for the third week of the Coney Island meeting were distributed among the horsemen today. Nominations for the Hotel Sinton Handicap which features Saturdays program closed today. The race at a mile and a sixteenth, drew Reveille Boy, Morsel, Warren, Jr., Sweeprush, St. Jensund, Judge Judy, Peggy Lehmann, Ridgeview and Fair Rochester. The race probably will mark the return of Fair Rochester to competition. Injured while training for the Latonia Derby the son of For Fair had previously finished second in the Illinois Derby and third in the American Derby. Jockey P. Petrella joined the jockey brigade. The lad is under contract to Johnny Zoeller. W. L. Johnson bought Totem from Edward Haughton, and Haughton sent H. F. Gardners Briar Sixty to Few Acres Farm. I. J. Collins, member of the Ohio Racing Commission, departed for his home at Lancaster, Ohio, today, after being a visitor for several days. A. E. Van Ree took over Blow Taps to train for J. Forg. B. B. Williams is training Voltina for Mrs. A. A. Baroni. Milton Rieser sent the two-year-old Winoso to Howard Rouses farm near Midway, Ky.
