STAKES CLOSING TUESDAY . Jiincoln Fields and Washington Park Fixtures Expected to Attract Big Eligible Lists. CICERO, 111., Aug. 10. With nominations for the stakes to be run during the fall meetings at Lincoln Fields and Washington Park closing Tuesday, officials of the two tracks anticipate a flood of entries over the ;week-end. Early subscriptions indicate a large number of entries for all of the features and all the leading Western stables will be represented. The Lincoln Fields stakes are headed by the ,000 added Lincoln Handicap, for three-year-olds and over and to be decided over one mile and one-sixteenth and also include three ,500 added events. Two of the latter, the Crete Handicap and Marquette Handicap, also are for three-year-olds and older horses, while two-year-olds will have their chance in the Joliet Handicap. The latter and the Crete will be run at three-quarters and the Marquette at one mile and a furlong. Washington Park is offering three early closing events and a cup handicap of ,000 value that will be run as an overnight event. The Washington Park stakes, closing Tuesday, are the ,500 added Lakeside Handicap, for two-year-olds and at three-quarters; ,500 added Homewopd Handicap, for three-year-olds and upward, at one mile and the ,500 added Harvey Handicap, also for three-year-olds and upward, but to be run at the greater distance of one mile and a furlong. The cup Handicap, scheduled for October 14, closing day of the Homewood season, will be decided over the long route of two miles and one-quarter and it prom-mises to prove one of the big attractions of the current season. Requests for stable accommodations already in the hands of Lincoln Fields and Washington Park officials indicate an abundance of tip-top racing material for the two meetings.
