SARATOGA YEARLING SALES Small Prices Realized for Offerings of the Second Nights Vendue. Thirty-Five Head Bring 2,375 for Average of 54-Top Price of ,800 for Saxon-Lady Scattercash Colt. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 10. Thirty-five head went under the hammer during the second night of the yearling sales at the Fasig-Tipton sales ring. Bidding lagged throughout in the presence of a small attendance. Major Louis Beard, manager of the entire Whitney racing interests, was the high bidder when he paid ,800 for a bay colt by Saxon imported Lady Scattercash II. Next high was paid by J. B. Belk for a chestnut filly by Wise Counsellor imported Aranga. These were in the consignment of Swingalong Stud, Inc., and Tollie Young, which consisted of eighteen head and brought the total of 0,050. The second lot were from the Inverness Farm and others and were a cheap group of youngsters, mainly the get of the sire Claptrap. The high here was 00 for a brown filly by Eternal Balance Sheet, which was purchased by Charlton Clay. The seventeen head only netted ,325.
