HAWTHORNE TURF NOTES j . $ J. Paul Eberhardt, young Kentucky horseman, and Miss Estelle Myer, of Cincinnati, were married here yesterday. Ebelhardt has the Keeneland Stud horses and his own Gift of Roses at Hawthorne. The Sylvester W. Labrot horses will be shipped to Maryland Sunday in charge of William Irvine. Following a short respite from hard training, they will be pointed for Maryland engagements. Irvine will leave apprentice L. Balaski here to ride through the remainder of the Hawthorne meeting under Roy Slomers care. Following a lingering illness Mrs. George Cochran, wife of the horseman and former jockey, died this morning in Berwyn, 111. John E. Pierce, a mutuel clerk, died soon after suffering a heart attack at Hawthorne Wednesday. He resided at 7949 South Paulina Ave., Chicago. H. P. Headleys Big Beau has been shipped to his owners Beaumont Farm, where, after being fired, he will be rested for several months before being trained for winter racing. Technique, star three-year-old filly, also owned by Headley, is also at the farm for a short rest. C. de la Cerda and Santiagos Cambridgeshire was to be vanned to Dade Park today. Cambridgeshire was victorious in his last Chicago engagement. J. B. Theall is considering shipping the Lone Star Stable to Detroit for the Fair Grounds meeting. Unless plans for the stable are changed, J. M. Milburn will ship E. B. Benjamins Starmount horses to Maryland a week from Saturday. Sweet Mathilde and Apronette, owned by Miss M. Baetz, were registered at Hawthorne by trainer A. Anderson.
