went to Morning Cry CryThe The Elgin was the best race on an unat ¬ tractive program and engaged six of the better threeyearolds for five and onehalf furlongs In gaining his conquest the win ¬ ner was forced to the extreme to down Pharatime leading the latter to the imagi ¬ nary wire by a neck while Morning Cry was four lengths farther back backThe The start was delayed to some extent when Morning Cry refused to line up but after unseating W Lowe she took her place and Wingfield effected a good start Lady La Marne was the first to show out of the pack but was closely followed by Aga Ray which was under restraint as he indulged her in the pacemaking As they made the turn Lady La Marne increased her advan ¬ tage and was going well under steadying reserve but as they came to the final eighth Harbort called upon his mount and he read ¬ ily supplanted her drew away and con ¬ tinued well to the final sixteenth where Pharatime moved to him with a belated rush and while the latter cut into his margin he could not overhaul him and finished a neck in the wake of the winner winnerSKIES SKIES OVERCAST OVERCASTAnother Another good crowd was on hand to wit ¬ ness the sport Skies were overcast
