AMERICAN DERBY PROSPECTS Colonel Winn Reports Much Interest Shown in Chicagos Famous Race to Be Run June 2 LOUISVILLE JKy May 19 After a week here during which he lookedAafter the usual routine details in connection with the meet ¬ ing laid plans for Mondays Charity Day designed improvements to be made before the opening here next spring and directed premeeting details of the Latonia season opening a week from Saturday Col M J Winn leaves tomorrow for Chicago where he will remain through the Washington Park season He will Tae accompanied by C Bruce Head general manager of Lincolrf Fields and one of the stewards of the Wash ¬ ington Park Jockey Club ClubColonel Colonel Winn is more than pleased with the American Derby outlook and advices from his Chicago offices the past few days were to the effect that Chicagoans are al ¬ ready evincing a great deal of interest in the race I am advised that we will have a tremendous advance sale of reservations possibly the largest since the race was re ¬ vived said Colonel Winn here this morning morningThe The American Derby exclusively for three yearolds and to be run over one mile and a quarter on Saturday June 2 is the richest and most prized event to be renewed It carries 25000 in added money moneyEligibles Eligibles for the fixture seventynine in number are headed by Cavalcade Mata Hari Far Star Discovery Agrarian Chic straw Gallant Mac Bazaar Blue Again Plight Bien Fait Collateral Koustabout Singing Wood First Minstrel Spy Hill and others othersWashington Washington Park programs will consist of the usual eight races with no purse under 800 Such betting features as the Daily Double and three dollar acrosstheboard combination again will be offered The lower admission fees as adopted last year will again prevail
