RIVERSIDE PARKS INAUGURAL Biggest Crowd in History of Track TrackWatches Watches Opening Program Programof of Spring Meeting KANSAS CITY Mo May 18 Before the largest crowd that ever attended a race meeting in Missouri the Riverside Jockey Club opened its gates today for its spring meeting of twentyfive or more days Ideal weather conditions prevailed for the open ¬ ing and while the sun was extremely hot the heat was modified somewhat by a cool breeze from the North making it comfort ¬ able for the large throng that crowd every place of vantage to welcome the thorough ¬ breds back backLong Long before the horses paraded to the post for the initial race the stands and lawns were packed to capacity and the roads leading to the track were jammed with auto ¬ mobiles for the opening of the attractive program of eight races The sixth race was the Inaugural Handicap the feature attraction Scratches reduced the field to nine and the C N Finch entry of Pat C and Sergeant D were installed the early choices choicesWell Well filled fields went to the post in the majority of the races and the sport was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd
