EASTERN OWNERS SUPPORT Arlington Park Assured of Patron ¬ age of Prominent Stables Horses of C V Whitney J E Widener WidenerBrookmeade Brookmeade Stable Greentree Stable Stableand and Others Coming to Arlington Assurances that the important eastern stables again will lend their support toward making Arlington Park racing foremost in the middle West and easily comparable with the finest in the world have been given officials of Chicagos magnificent race course courseBy By letter personal promise and nomina ¬ tions to stakes the Arlington Park Jockey Club management has been informed that the outstanding thoroughbreds in the stables of C V Whitney Joseph E Widener Mrs Isabel Dodge Sloane Mrs John Hay Whit ¬ ney Katherine Elkins Hitt William R Coe Willis Sharpe Kilmer A C and M L Schwartz Sylvester W Labrot William Woodward Mrs H C Phipps Ogden Mills and Mrs Payne Whitney will be sent here for the thirty days of racing starting June 25 and ending July 28 28Roy Roy Carruthers managing director of the north side track construes the indicated support of the leading eastern establish ¬ ments as evidence that Arlington Park is secure in its position in the circuit of Amer ¬ icas finest tracks arid will not suffer from the racing boom now enjoyed in New York due to the liberalization of the law govern ¬ ing wagering wageringThe The shipment of horses from New York to Arlington Park will begin at the close of the Belmont Park meeting on June 9 and is expected to continue even after the local meeting starts June 25 The bulk of eastern horses are expected here however in time to be rested several days before the Arlington season is inaugurated inauguratedEarliest Earliest stable reservations include those of Willis Sharpe Kilmer William R Coe and Sylvester W Labrot The Kilmer horses numbering twenty will be brought here by Henry McDaniel who ranks with Andrew Jackson Joyner as the dean of American trainers Hugh Fontaine directs the Coe stable and William Irvine conditions the horses owned by the Maryland sportsman sportsmanAmong Among the important members of the Kil ¬ mer stable is the fouryearold Sun Archer winner of the Potomac Handicap at Havre de Grace last fall and the Grab Bag Handi ¬ cap and Sanford Stakes the previous season at Saratoga Pete Walls one of the most suc ¬ cessful of the older jockeysis attached to the stable stableLadysman Ladysman champion juvenile of 1932 when he won the Arlington Futurity is the most noted horse in the Coe stable and he is destined to see service at the north side course Among the other fifteen horses for which the New York sportsman has made reservations are Pomposity and Pomponius both candidates for honors in the older division divisionMax Max Hirsch who had one of the largest eastern stables at Arlington last summer and who saddled Gusto for his Classic vic ¬ tory in 1932 is expected with about twenty horses the majority of which are owned by A Charles and Morton L Schwartz Others trained by Hirsch belong to Bernard Baruch and Admiral Gary T Grayson
