ROLE OFF TWO AT DAYTON Frank Zack and James Michaels MichaelsBarred Barred for Alleged Fixing of ofRaces Races Jockeys Implicated DAYTON Ohio June 23 Following an investigation of alleged fixing of races dur ¬ ing the meeting of the Dayton Jockey Club which concluded at the Fair Grounds today the following official ruling was issued by the stewards and released by judge S C Nuckols NuckolsFor For practices detrimental to the best interests of racing Frank Zack of Colum ¬ bus Ohio and James Michaels of Arlington a suburb of Columbus were ruled off the course of the Dayton Jockey Club and their case was referred to the Ohio State Racing Commission CommissionZack Zack was taken into custody and the police said made a confession naming some of the riders with whom they were doing business all of them veterans veteransWhen When questioned by the racing officials the jockeys so incriminated admitted that they had been approached by the alleged fixers but declined to accede to their re ¬ quests to frame any of the races notwith ¬ standing that several of their races had a suspicious appearance to horsemen and the observing patrons of the course courseAs As far as could be learned Zack and Michaels did not incriminate the operators of the track in their alleged confession confessionIt It is probable that when the case is aired before the racing commission some of the riders so named may lose their licenses
