Midway Ky banker and ridden by G Arnold which was third to Cavalcade and Plight in the Detroit Derby last week took the seventeenth renewal of the Enquirer Handicap feature offering of an attractive card at Latonia Saturday SaturdayCarrying Carrying 107 pounds the gelded son of Broadway Jones and Ethel Dear ran the mile and a sixteenth in the remarkable time of 144 over a track that was slightly dull Second to the Parrish representative was the Coldstream Studs Marmion the third in ¬ vader sent here by Jack Howard in quest of stake honors while third money went to BoyIn Laffoon Yeisers Shepherd Boy In the order named the others were Open Hearth Stjensund Howard stablemate of the winner and Brown Toney ToneyThe The sport was staged under ideal condi ¬ tions before one of the largest latter was third by three lengths Open Hearth coming from last place to be fourth and save his entry fee feeBy By his victory New Deal earned 2130 for his owner while place money was 500 third 250 and neck Penncote finished a length and a hall in front of Frederick which in turn beai Cactus Rose by a nose for third money My Blaze was last to leave the starting stalls but he gradually gained on the leaders anc at the head of the stretch was taken to the outside by H Schutte From there on he wore down those in front of him and go the verdict in the last few strides PENNCOTE GIVES WAY WAYFredrick the decision by the barest of margins Her closest rival was Jane Rachel the well backed favorite while third money went to Panalong PanalongJane Jane Rachel started off to make a run ¬ away of the race but when she hit the stretch she began to shorten her strides ant finally was caught in the last few strides by Athanette Moa a firsttime starter was well thought of in this race and ran well to the stretch where she quit badly Athanette was always close up upOutcry Outcry owned by B C Spotts won the third event in which the favorite Dewhursl got caught in a jam at the start and lost his rider D Taylor The boy escaped wit a little shaking up and was able to ride out his remaining engagements engagementsOutcry Outcry never far back took commanc after the field entered the straightaway and won out in a drive beating the fastclosini Valdosta a half length Scrip Money whicl cut out the early pace ran third in the field of twelve twelveDelma Delma Dunn and Bob Custer showed some early speed but both quit badly in the stretch stretchW W E Hupps Sun Boy scored his second straight victory in taking the Warsaw Purse a sprint of six furlongs which brought to ¬ gether a well matched field of seven Close to Grimaces pace for a half mile Sun Boy went into a lead In the stretch and won handily by two lengths Second money went to I Pass while Left Wing was third The best race was run by I Pass which came from last place The winner was ridden by G South who also piloted Outcry to victory
