MASKED GAL went, to the front after racing an eighth, drew into a good lead before reaching the stretch, but had to be hard ridden through the closing sixteenth to hold LIGHT WEIGHT safe. The latter worked his way up steadily and closed with a rush on the outside. HAROLDS WAY was a prominent factor all the way, though tiring in the closing strides from his efforts of trying to keep pace with the winner. TUGBOAT FRANK, slow to settle into his best stride and outpaced for the first half mile, was running stoutly at the finish. UNCLE JULY, away well, lacked speed to keep up and faltered at the end. Won driving; second and third the same. - PAR VALUE was not hurried during the early "stages, moved up on the inside until, nearing the stretch and, brought to the outside, closed with a rush and was up in the final strides. ON OUR WAY raced to the front soon after the start,, drew clear and, steadied along under slight restraint held, on better than usual and just failed to last. MERRY BUD displayed good speed and was in contention all the way. GAY CREST showed good speed, but was unable to keep pace in the drive. OGLE closed a big gap. CARDAMON was never able to reach contention and was worked out an additional quarter. MORDEN suffered interference on the turn out of the back stretch. THE POTTER was taken up at the start and was far back throughout. POSTSCRIPT was not hurried during the first half mile, was taken to the outside approaching the stretch, closed with a rush and was up in the last few strides to wear down ACCOLADE. The latter, displaying good speed, shook off CHINESE EMPRESS and drew into a good lead though unable, to stave off the closing bid of the winner. CHINESE EMPRESS, prominently placed all the. way, barely lasted to save third from SLIPPER KING. The latter, restrained early, came willingly in the last eighth. MADWIND faltered in the last five-sixteenths. PHARATIME, prominent until reaching the stretch, quit through the final eighth. JIRASOL II. trailed far back throughout. Won driving; second and third the same. BACHELOR DINNER, under steadying restraint after breaking forwardly, came to the outside in the stretch and, closing stoutly, was up in the last strides. STAR PORTER worked his way up steadily, assumed a short lead inside the last seventy yards, but was unable to stall off the winner. THE DARB moved up gradually leaving the back stretch and closed with good energy in the final drive. ALL FORLORN displayed good speed racing with CARISBROOKE, only to tire from her early efforts. DON GUZMAN saved ground at . the stretch turn. CARISBROOKE tired after showing keen early speed. WISE PRINCE tired.. CAPTAIN ARGO was knocked back at the start and was unable to recover. HIGH GLEE was never prominent. DREEL was moving un fast between horses in the opening three-sixteenths- when she met sharp interference and- had to be taken up. Scratched 16268 Wise Anne, 98. HOOPS, up with the pace all the way, fought it out for the lead with FOUR SPOT and outlasted the latter at the end. FOUR SPOT showed good speed and held on well in the drive; MY BOSS dropped back after reaching the back stretch. ALADDINS DREAM, away slowly, trailed all the way. SIXTH RACE 1 MILE. CALGARY KAY, outrun for the first half mile, closed with a burst of speed in the last eighth. PASS was well up all the way and, saving all possible ground in the stretch, held on well. FRIAR MARK was unafile to reach the leaders. SOUND MONEY, far back throughout, passed tiring horses through the stretch. ST. BRIGHT BIRD, a forward factor all the way, fought it out courageously and just missed. MYNAH saved ground entering the stretch and closed determinedly, though unable to reach the leaders. CHIEF A. was forced to take up when caught in close quarters approaching the far turn and was eased back and, brought to the outside, where he was placed under punishment, but was unable to make up much ground.
