AK-SAR-BEN OPENING IS NEAR Revival of Omaha Racing Scheduled i for May 30 Officials and Horses Arriving Daily. OMAHA, Neb. May 22 With the opening day of Ak-Sar-Bens revival running race meeting only a few days away, thoroughbreds from all sections of the country are beginning to flood the local plant. With more than 200 head now stabled here, at least 400 more are expected to be shipped here before the meeting opens May SO, to continue for thirty-one days until July 4. Twelve cars of Texas horses arrived early this week, while four more came from Louisville. Several shipments are due from the Aurora plant. Starter Jack Hodgins and his crew of five arrived Monday and inaugurated morning schooling for the bad actors of the track. Work has been about completed in dressing up the plant, and through the application of several hundred gallons of paint the stand and buildings are taking on a gaudy hue. Kacing secretary E. W. Bury, who spent thirty days on a missionary trip through the southwest recruiting stables, has returned to Omaha to make final plans for the meeting. Presiding steward Frederic W. Ashe has arrived from the East. Other keymen in the Ak-Sar-Ben organization are due later this week.
