MAX AND MRS. MURPHY INJURED DETROIT, Mich., May 22 According to word received here, the condition of Max Murphy and Mrs. Murphy, who were severely injured in an automobile accident near Texarkana, Ark., while en route to Chicago, from Dallas, where Murphy served as paddock and placing judge, are somewhat improved. Dr. S. A. Collom, who is attending judge and Mrs. Murphy, sent word that judge Murphy sustained a fractured skull and several broken ribs. Mrs. Murphy sustained a fractured pelvis, a dislocated left shoulder and a fractured clavical. The accident was caused when the car in which judge and Mrs. Murphy were riding, skidded on a wet pavement.
