CANDY POT had good speed, took command in the run through the back stretch, saved ground throughout and shook off BABE GAIETY in the drive. The latter, closest to the pace at all times, moved up threateningly in the stretch, but was not good enough. SABINA, always a forward factor, made a determined bid through the stretch, but could not get up. MYTHICAL LORE raced evenly and closed well. MISH MASH turned in a good performance. PATSY SWEEP had good early speed, took a short load, shook off LITTLE CAESAR and SAFARI and, saving ground, just lasted to hold MR. CHINK safe. The latter, always a forward factor, moved up stoutly on the outside of the leaders through the stretch and just failed to get up. GALANG gradually improved his position on the outside and closed fast. HARDY BAN, shuffled back and encountering interference on the far turn, finished fast when clear. The latter, rushed into, contention from a slow beginning, made a strong bid through the stretch, but could not get up. CARYLDON raced evenly in , the early stages while being reserved, came to the outside for the drive through the stretch and closed well.- HANOVER JEAN had good speed in the early stages and hung on well. FINESSE well placed from the start, disposed of BIG FISH in the drive, but could not withstand the challenge-of the winner. BIG FISH had good early speed to take command entering the back stretch, drew out into a long lead under restraint, but flattened out in the final drive.
