SURCOUF, under stout restraint for a half mile, took command with a rush and, continuing strongly, held sway thereafter. OUR SAMMY, a factor from the start and also under reserve early, lost eround on the stretch turn and held on well to the final sixteenth, where he tired. BRILLIANT ROSE, badly outrun for three-quarters, closed fast. ENOLA bcean slowly and lost much ground. STINGER tired after moving up in the stretch. WEGOWAY quit. FOOLHARDY took command easily and was rated under snug restraint for three quarters, bore out badly soon after reaching the stretch and, holding on well, recovered the lead in the last fifty yards and outstayed LUCY. The latter, taken back early, was racing strongly and on the inside when blocked in the final eighth and may have been best. ALMAC. well in hand for three quarters and forced wide when racing to the lead, bore over badly after reaching the front and tired suddenly in the last fifty yards. DAMASCENE, on the inside throughout, stumbled soon after reaching the back stretch and failed to rally to pressure in the stretch. MIDLANDA tired. Scratched— 25077Miss Lizzie, 103; 26775 Harper, 108. Overweight — Foolhardy, 2 pounds.
