PURCHASES MAN 0 WAR FILLY Harris B. Scott Secures Well-Bred Youngster From Roy Martin Doubtful Hours Also Sold. LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct 28. The yearling chestnut filly by Man o War Carola, which was purchased by Roy Martin, master of Woodvale Farm, Paris, Ky., at Saratoga, is on her way to F. B. Koontz Paulfred Farm, Tulsa, Okla., having been purchased by manager Harris B. Scott of Faraway Farm and shipped to her new owner last night The filly was broken by Steve Judge at Keeneland but was not tried, having been sent to Woodvale Farm October 1. She developed the cribbing habit, otherwise she would not have been sold by Mr. Martin. Trainer William Rust, who has been employed by J. O. Keene for several years, yesterday underwent a stomach operation at a Lexington hospital. Harry S. Hart is arranging to ship Co California next Thursday the yearlings he bought at the sales last week and the stallion Saxon and several brood mares. He and his associates will set up a breeding and training establishment near Holly-jvood.. Henry H. Knight, master of Almahurst Farm, Nicholasville, Ky., has purchased from Thomas B. Cromwell the six-year-old grey mare, Doubtful Hours, by Blondin Persica, dam of Advocator, by Hourless Reine des Peches, dam of Stefan the Great by Roi Herode. Mr. Knight also purchased the weanling grey colt by Burgoo King Doubtful Hours, and they were delivered to Almahurst Farm Tuesday afternoon. Cromwell has a two-year-old gelding by Baggen-baggage and a yearling filly by Keivc Doubtful Hours, which are to be shipped to San Antonio, Texas, with the Joe Houston stable, in charge of trainer J. W. Murphy next week. Norris Roydcn sold to Manhasset Stable the yearling bay colt by Chicle Bluett, which was raised at his Middlebrook Farm near Versailles, Ky., and broken for him at Keeneland by Tom Young. The colt has been shipped to Red Bank, N. J. Young is also training for Roydcn the yearling brown colt by Crack Brigade Glory Monk, by Monks Way.
