FOREIGNERS ASK EXPENSES European Horsemen Cabling Santa Anita Officials for Shipping Money for Their Horses. ARCADIA, Calif., Oct 28. Horsemen In foreign countries, cabling and communicating with the Los Angeles Turf Club for expense money, to ship their horses and transport their trainers and jockeys to Santa Anita Park for the third annual winter racing season, opening Christmas Day and running fifty-three days until March 6, are being informed by general managed Charles H. Strub that they are being misled by unauthorized persons that such a practice prevails. "We regret this misrepresentation has been made without the knowledge or sanction of the Los Angeles Turf Club," says Strub, "No shipping or other expenses are paid to attract entries from the United States or any other country. Conditions, as printed in our stake books, are uniform and govern all entries on an equal basis. . "The Lo3 Angeles Turf Club Invites foreign entries, and is hopeful of receiving them before nominations close on December 1. Every possible courtesy and consideration will be given these visitors, but in fairness does not want them to be further misled by unauthorized misrepresentations as to shipping and transportation expenses for their horses, trainers and jockeys. "The Santa Anita Stakes, featuring the Santa Anita Handicap, 00,000 added, and the Santa Anita Derby, 0,000 added, as well as the daily races, are open to registered thoroughbred horses of the world. The purpose of offering the richest stakes and the largest daily purse distribution of any single racing association is to bring into competition the greatest thoroughbreds in training."
