ARKANSAS TREASURY GAINS Coffers of State Enriched by Sum of 56,732 From Meeting at Oaklawn Park. HOT SPRINGS, Ark., April 5 The Arkansas State Treasury was enriched to the extent of 56,732 during the thirty days of racing conducted at Oaklawn Park. The foregoing amount was exclusive of license fees :for jockeys, apprentices and trainers. The increase in wagering over last year was approximately a million dollars, as the total handle in the mutuels was announced by E. L. Farris, secretary of the commission, as ,225,275. The Derby was the biggest betting race of the meeting, with a total of 9,265 being wagered on the various contestants. The mutuel turnover for Derby Day was 83,742, which established a new high mark for betting at the Oaklawn course.
