SKY PIRATE beat the others away to open up a good lead in the early stages and, increasing his advantage in the stretch, was eased up in the last fifty yards. BLUE ARMOR was restrained slightly in the early stages and failed to make his move until too late. MAKE AND BREAK was shuffled back at the start and was taken up. but came fast through the stretch. EXHIBIT dropped back slightly after going a quarter, but came to the outside ncaring the stretch turn to catch and pass BOXTHORN and won with speed in reserve. BOXTHORN had good speed from the start and raced fairly well under his weight after being headed. PRIMULUS was in close quarters early, but finished fast in the middle of the track. MAD JOSS was in close quarters on the far turn. BUBBLE-SOME tired after moving up strongly on the inside approaching the stretch turn. SUNSET TRAIL II. was badly outrun for the first half mile, then moved up gamely and, finishing with a rush, caught EXCLAIM in the closing strides to win narrowly. The latter moved up steadily approaching the stretch turn to catch the early leaders rounding the turn and, although bothered when BROWN JADE bore out, came again to get to the front nearing the end and barely missed. SIR ORACLE was trapped while attempting to get through on the inside of BROWN JADE on the back stretch and was forced to take back, but continued gamely next to the rajl to save ground and take a good lead when BROWN JADE and EXCLAIM raced wide on the stretch turn, but tired under his weight in the closing stride. PARMENARCH was in close quarters in the final eighth, but finished fast and gamely. PATTY CAKE had a rough trip. BROWN JADE had the most early speed, but tired and bore out after entering the stretch, quitting badly in the last eighth. BLACK RHAPSODY was bumped rounding the first turn. ALMAHA was never far away. MOISSON tired after going three-quarters. ILLEANNA had a rough trip. SIR MAXIM was in close quarters entering the back stretch. BINOCULAR was well up from the start and made several game bids to catch the winner, but was not good enough. BRILLIANT QUEEN closed some ground. SAN RAMON raced fairly we II up, but never threatened seriously. AKSALA and FAIR LAY tired after showing early speed. LOBITOS lacked speed at all times and turned in a disgraceful effort.
