GREGORY CONFIRMS RESIG-NATION OF CARRUTHERS Walter L. Gregory, president of the Washington Park Jockey Club, today confirmed the report from Lexington of the resignation of Roy Carruthers as general manager of the Homewood track. Mr. Gregory gave ill health as the reason for the resignation of Carruthers, who is general manager of Arlington Park and Keeneland, where he is officiating at present. Carruthers also acts as steward at Santa Anita Park. President Gregory said that Carruthers place as general manager will not be filled, but that he and Benjamin Lindheimer, one of the major stockholders of the Washington Park Jockey Club, will take a more active interest in the plant and share Carruthers duties between them with the help of John D. Jackson, former assistant to the general manager, and John J. Sullivan, superintendent of maintenance.
