FLYING CROSS ON SHELF LEXINGTON, Ky., April 23. Thomas J. Healey, trainer for C. V; Whitney, announced here today that he had given up hopes of having Flying Cross ready for the Kentucky Derby. The son of Pennant, which finished third in the Belmont Futurity last fall, suffered injuries to his hind legs when he kicked at the stall gate when making his first start of the season at Keeneland last week. Black Look continues as the Whitney reliance for the Derby.
