ALUP, away fast and rushed into command, saved ground after the first eighth, was under strong pressure the final eighth and tired, but lasted. KNEE DEEP, away well but forced to race wide throughout, closed with determination and was rapidly wearing down the winner. BIRTHDAY, a strong factor from the Start, held on with good courage. DIAVOLO BOY lost ground on the stretch turn and came strongly when Straightened out. DOROTHY ROCK had speed from the start, but gave way slightly in the late stages. CANDLE ENDS was in close quarters early, could not get through on the turn and had little chance. GERSEL was also in close quarters shortly after the start. BRILLIANT STONE gradually improved her position and finished strongest. MISS WISE was under pressure from the start and tired badly in the final sixteenth. SMITH, a strong factor from the start, held on well. LADY GAYHEART, fractious at the post, began well, but did not threaten. TIME TO PLAY also delayed the start and began slowly. POLLY JO tired. PROPHi taken back slightly in the opening quarter, saved ground on the stretch turn, but gave way steadily in the final three-sixteenths. BUTTER BEANS lacked early speed, made her way forward gradually and closed fast between horses. PAT C, rated in close pursuit of the pace, assumed command when ready and tired after being passed by the winner. AUKAI dropped well out of it right after the start, lacked speed for three-quarters and closed with a rush. JOB PRINTER and TOP BRACKET raced each other into defeat.
