Won handily: second and third driving. GREAT UNION was rushed into command after the break and showed high speed, drew away into a safe lead, but was kept under mild urging to the finish. SHOW UP, a forward factor all the way, saved ground and held on well under urging. MAESAK, in near pursuit of the early pace, faltered under urging at the end. HAPPILY, on the outside of the leaders rounding the stretch turn, finished well. PAPA JACK closed steadily. SPRING MELODY broke greenly and was away slowly. LOCO ran in spots. WHOA BOY raced greenly. GOLDEN VEIN was outrun in the early stages, but moved up fast when called on, disposed of the leaders and was drawing away at the end. FREE AGAIN forced a fast pace from the start, raced FLOPSIE into defeat and held on well in the final strides. DEDUCE, away well and in close quarters after the break, was blocked nearing the far turn, came to the outside in the stretch and finished fast. SIR TEN showed a good effort. FLOPSIE faltered after forcing the early pace. PASTRY was outrun. LE MORTAINIS was outrun. BLACK WITCH quit badly. RED ARIL was outrun all the way. Scratched 40175 Muggins, 111. CAPE RACE, under urging in the early stages, could not menace the leaders. MISS APPREHEND was outrun in the early stages and then closed some ground. MIXED WEATHER had no mishaps. CHICOLORADO improved his position steadily on the inside in the early running, came to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch and, finishing with a rush, was going away at the end. VAMOOSE forced his way between the leaders entering the stretch and then finished fast on the inside. GUY FAWKES forced a fast early pace from the start, shook off AIRFLAME rounding the stretch turn, drew away, but faltered in the final sixteenth. JEWELL DORSETT finished full of run from a slow beginning. AIRFLAME had no mishaps. ZOSTERA was away slowly and made up some ground. MELODIST lacked early speed after being bumped at the start. GOLD BAND, close up from the start, had no mishaps. CHARING CROSS broke well, but suffered severe interference and was knocked back. SCROOGE had no mishaps. SAVAGE was fractious at the post and was outrun. RUDIE showed early speed, but bore out rounding the stretch turn. ANN ORULEY was outrun early and had no mishaps. ROUGH DIAMOND was outrun to the stretch turn. UP AND DOING had no mishaps. ROUND TABLE, fractious at the post, could not improve its position.
