ALLRED CARRIES ON FIGHT Determined to Call Special Texas TexasSession Session to Get Ballot on onPariMutuel PariMutuel Repeal AUSTIN Texas May 20 Gov James V I Allred was quoted today as saying he will issue a call Saturday for a special session of the legislature which by concurrence of the two houses has decided to adjourn its reg ¬ ular session with the weekend The only subject to be submitted in the call is repeal of the parimutuel betting law Other sub ¬ jects may be submitted later but not until the racing matter has been disposed of ac ¬ cording to repeated statements of the gov ¬ ernor ernorWith With a special session a certainty unless the senate voted on the Bradbury repeal bill the only measure of the kind on its calendar it has been predicted during the last week the senate might advance the Bradbury bill either tomorrow or Saturday the final day The governor has intimated that a vote merely to table will not satisfy him He in ¬ sists on an outright ballot on repeal itself His opponents say the governor alone is in ¬ terested in repeal of racing to the extent of a special session which it is estimated will cost the state S200000 S200000A A rumor which gained currency was that several house members who were most ac ¬ tive in support of the Bradbury bill when it passed the lower body would attempt at the eleventh hour to attach a repeal rider to a major appropriation bill Such a rider was tacked on to a racing regulatory bill in the senate early in the session but it failed to pass and then was buried in committee
