RIGNEY GETS DRAFT DELAY DELAYJohnny Johnny Rigney White Sox pitcher was gyanted a sixtyday delay in induction into the army under the Selective Service Act it became known when Paul G Armstrong state director of selective service filed an appeal of the ruling of the local River Forest board that made the decision asking Presi ¬ dent Roosevelt to reverse it The deferment was granted it is said because it was felt that Rigney should not be deprived of too great a percentage of his annual salary which with his bonus is estimated at be ¬ tween 12000 and 15000
