BOLD IRISHMAN NOT TO RACE FOR REMAINDER OF SEASON SEASONAnkle Ankle Injury He Suffered Last Fall to Keep Him on Sidelines SidelinesNEW NEW YORK N Y June 11 Bold Irish ¬ man is out for the year was the statement made by trainer James Fitzsimmons at Aque ¬ duct this morning The threeyearold will be declared from the remainder of his en ¬ gagements for this season and later shipped to the estate of his owner Mrs H C Phipps of Syossett Long Island IslandBold Bold Irishman never fully recovered from the injury he suffered in the running of the Pimlico Futurity last fall when one of his ankles was injured He was rested up and treated over the winter and this spring was placed back in training He was training nicely but when the severe pressure was applied he favored the weak member Train ¬ er Fitzsimmons after Xray examinations and conferences with owner Phipps decided to let up on the colt He was again placed back in training with the Belmont Stakes as his objective but lack of work forced his withdrawal from that feature Recently he again began to favor the ankle and then trainer Fitzsimmons decided against any 1941 campaign He will be kept at the stable under treatment for some time then moved to the Long Island estate where he will bo turned out in a roomy paddock until the cold weather sets in Fitzsimmons stated that late this fall the colt will again be examined and if in his opinion he will stand training may be pointed for a Florida cam ¬ paign
