Among them are Thumbs Up, who finished second in the opening-day feature, and Some Chance, who was one of the disappointing favorites. Thumbs Up turned in an especially noteworthy performance in that he came from last place to be beaten only a length and one-quarter by the Mill B Stable colt. The Equipoise Mile, won last year by Best Seller, will command wide interest because of its relationship to the 0,000 Stars and Stripes Handicap and the equally rich Arlington Handicap, the two most heavily endowed features of the Arlington meeting for older horses. Nearly all of those named for Saturdays 0,000 spectacle also will be pointed for those more important events to come.
