Ask Change in Time Limit For Depositing of Claims HOMEWOOD, 111., June 22.— Al Gaal, Clyde Troutt and M. G. Farnsworth, representing the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, and other independent owners and trainers, appealed to the Illinois Racing Board to make a change in the claiming rule to permit the deposit of claims as late as 15 minutes before each race. The board, which met at its offices in downtown Chicago today, took the subject under advisement and is expected to announce its decision in a few days. Heretofore all claims for the entire day had to be registered before the first race. Jockey Kenneth McCombs, whose application for a license has been help up in Illinois, also appeared before the board with his attorney today. The commission did not comment on his appearance.
